2024's Best AI Image Creators: Top 4 Tools Revolutionizing Visual Content Generation

In a previous blog, I covered the pricing of the top 4 AI image-generation tools. In this blog, I’ll be going over the outputs of each platform using two prompts: 

1. “A futuristic city with high-rise buildings and flying cars”

2. “A parrot in the forest” 

The top 4 AI image-generation tools we are comparing include: 

1. DALL-E

2. Midjourney

3. Jasper AI

Comparing Outputs

DALL-E

Since DALLE-2 no longer offers a free trial, I was hoping to get access to DALL-E 3 through my ChatGPT Plus subscription. I did but I was out of luck. I tried a couple of times to generate images for both of the prompts above however it kept generating an error.

I then out found that Microsoft now offers image generation powered by DALL-E 3 through its Bing chat. Now this does work, however, as has been reported the wait times are long with people not even receiving their outputs at times — and I can verify that both cases are true. I’ve tried generating outputs using both of the above prompts, multiple times, and have had no results. 

Midjourney

To access Midjourney you need a Discord account and subscription. As I have highlighted in my previous article, where I compare the prices of these platforms, they no longer offer a free trial. Also, unlike all the other platforms you can’t just type in a prompt, remember to use /imagine to generate an image. 

For the first prompt, “A futuristic city with high-rise buildings and flying cars”, this is what I received:

Jasper AI

With Jasper AI, you do have a 7-day free trial for which you do have to input your credit card details (so remember to cancel the trial in case you don’t like it, been a victim to a few unfortunate subscriptions).

Kendal AI

Similar to Jasper, Kendal AI has a free plan. It’s a plan you’re automatically enrolled in with no credit card details as soon as you sign up. With the free plan, you receive 10 generations and 30 revisions.

Additional Comments

• The generations of these images were purely based on the text. What I mean by that is that platforms like Jasper and Kendal AI do offer customizability and personalization along with the prompts. 

• So for Kendal AI, for example, you can choose between anime, comic book, 3D art, to Neon Punk.

•  For Jasper, you can select the mood, medium (collage, ink, photography, etc), inspiration (Andy Warhol, Van Gogh, Picasso), style, keywords, and language.

• DALL-E 3 through Bing or ChatGPT Plus doesn’t offer any personalization along with the input of the prompt. 

• In Midjourney, you have the option to upscale the image quality and opt to vary the images.
